Ouranosaurus tooth
A tooth from Ouranosaurus nigeriensis, a two ton iguanodontian. It's from Gadoufaoua, in the Tenere Desert of Niger, and about 113 million years old. The teeth are pretty small for such a big animal, but that's not unusual in herbivores. It's not that they were dainty eaters - they made a hell of a mess and the noises were disgusting.
Roughly 1.5cm
