Iguanodon bone

Iguanodon bernissartensis is a dinosaur icon - only the second dinosaur formally named (after Megalosaurus), and one of the three animals used to describe the Dinosauria clade. It's been a staple of toy sets since they first appeared. Its pointy thumb is immediately recognisable, though originally placed firmly on its nose in early reconstruction attempts. This piece of bone probably isn't from the thumb, but you can't have everything.

About 120 million years old, from the original Dinosaur Isle - the Isle of Wight, off England's South coast.

3-4cm - rough pieces, rather than polished, at the moment.
