Polished Madagascan

Most of the ammonites from this site are Cleoniceras cleon, but there are also Phylloceras and Douvilleoceras. Many are sectioned but those that show a clean suture pattern are often kept whole and polished. The calcite that has filled many of the chambers is usually a deep honey colour and these make beautiful display fossils.
