Mako tooth

Mako sharks are still around today, but Cosmopolitodus hastalis was a bigger relative. It is thought this species was ancestral to the Great White.

These teeth date to around 5 million years old, and are mostly from Aurora in North Carolina. There are some South Carolina teeth in the batch, which are a little older.
