Isurus tooth

Mako sharks are still around today, but Isurus hastalis was a bigger relative. It is thought makos are ancestral to the Great White lineage, but Isurus teeth lack the serration of Carcharocles and Carcharodon.

These teeth date to between 15 and 25 million years old, and are mostly from South Carolina. There are some Florida teeth in the batch.
