Ammonites
Sectioned ammonite
These cut and polished ammonites are mostly Cleoniceras cleon, but there are also some Phylloceras and Douvilleiceras. Once hollow chambers have been filled in by a mixture of honey-coloured calcite crystals, brown and green sediment and some red polishing grit. Individuals vary and sometimes the chambers will be a colourful mixture, sometimes an appealingly uniform pattern. Either way, these are very popular for a reason - they look fantastic.
