The planet's most dangerous animal

Whenever humans arrived somewhere new it generally meant trouble for other living things. By the end of the welcoming party, we humans would usually be tucking into the guests.

When we reached Australia there were some amazing animals kicking around. Fossils show some of the highlights to be giant kangaroos, enormous wombats, marsupial 'lions' and 'tigers'. Not long after our arrival we had made our presence felt - some 55 species had become extinct. There are a few suggested reasons and likely it's down to a combination of them.
