Unwrapped

Many museums have a store of material that has been carefully collected, gently wrapped, then set aside for preparation and study. Sometimes there can be a very long time between a couple of those stages.

One Canadian museum has made a feature of this, bringing five wrapped dinosaur specimens back into the light and asking visitors to vote for which they'd most like to see prepared and displayed. The candidates were named, and shown alongside collection notes and descriptions of their contents. The winner was 'Canadian Club', the back end of an ankylosaur. Every step of its journey from burlap coating to glass cabinet will now be recorded and broadcast. An interesting idea. You can read more by clicking here.
