Dinosaur roll call

A couple of days ago on the Facebook page, I linked to a story about how there are possibly a great many dinosaurs mistakenly assigned as new species. This has always been a problem - if a specimen looks a little different, the temptation is to name it a new species. It makes for a better story, you get to name it, etc, etc. But there's a good chance it may just have been a small/big/unusual/deformed example of a known species...

I then came across a list of 1347 dinosaur names, many with notes on whether they may actually be something esle. The first on the list looks like it was probably a lump of fossil wood. See how easy it is to get it wrong? Click here for the list.
