A bit too far

The issue of irresponsible core drilling is something that's risen its head before. What's particularly disappointing about it is that the problem is being caused by geologists, who should know better. Core sampling is important - that's not in doubt - but the selection of exactly where to drill has to be handled with some care.

Disfiguration of rock faces detracts from areas of natural beauty, the circular holes a jarring industrial intrusion. The guidelines are there and shouldn't prohibit the gathering of necessary data, so all that's needed is a little consideration. You can read more by clicking here.
