Snowflake obsidian

Obsidian is a natural glass formed by rapidly-cooled lava. In this case, the snowflakes dotted throughout are clusters of tiny crystals of cristobalite, a strange quartz form. It's not actually snow, and shaking the stone will not make the flakes move.
