Chrysoprase

Chrysoprase is a pretty green gem grade of chalcedony, with the colour being due to trace amounts of nickel in the quartz. The specimens are from Yerilla in Western Australia. The chrysoprase forms veins through reddish, iron-rich rocks.

These bit are rough lumps, hand-picked for their colour.
