Photo of Seymchan meteorite

Pallasites are iron-nickel meteorites that contain crystals of olivine and other minerals. These examples have none of the olivine, but are interesting for the size of the iron crystals, which show the typical Widmanstatten pattern very clearly.

The Seymchan pallasite was found in 1967 in the Magadan region of Russia. These pieces are approximate squares of 2.5x2.5cm.
